Monosodium Glutamate

This ingredient is not good for your health.
Monosodium glutamate is the sodium salt of glutamic acid. Glutamate is a naturally occurring amino acid that is found in nearly all foods, especially high protein foods such as dairy products, meat and fish and in many vegetables.
\It acts as a flavour enhancer and adds a fifth taste, called “umami”.
\Although it is considered safe for adults, some people who eat MSG report headaches, dizziness, chest pains and flushing. The US FDA concluded that a small portion of the population may be sensitive to MSG.
\As a precaution, MSG is not allowed in baby food.
The Hyperactive Children's Support Group (HACSG) recommend avoidance.\\\
